Rising Leaders Summer Program 2024

6 Weeks: June 24th - August 9th (Skipping the Week of July 1st)

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Rising Leaders program provides an exciting and enriching experience for young individuals aged 12-14, entering grades 7-9. The program is dedicated to fostering leadership skills, teamwork, and personal growth in a fun and supportive environment. The Rising Leaders program helps build confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of community. Join us for a summer filled with laughter, learning, and the opportunity to become the leaders of tomorrow!

• Engaging Activities / Targeted Enrichment 

  • Our program offers a dynamic mix of fun games and activities that promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. With outdoor adventures, creative challenges, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, and more! Participants will have opportunities to go hiking, fishing, try archery, visit White’s Pool, and more!

• Community Connections

• In an effort to inspire future leaders, we organize visits to essential community services such as the Rutland Regional Ambulance, and Rutland City Fire, and Police Department. Participants will gain valuable insights into the roles these organizations play in ensuring the well-being and safety of our community.

• Hands-On Experience

• To empower participants with practical skills, we provide opportunities to work with our summer day camps. This hands-on experience includes planning and leading activities, fostering communication and teamwork, and developing the skills necessary to become a future leader. 

• CPR/ First Aid Training

• During this program, participants will undergo CPR training with the Recreation Department. This crucial skill not only enhances personal safety but also prepares our Rising Leaders to respond effectively in emergency situations, instilling a sense of responsibility and readiness. Please note that this will not be an official certification.

Registration Details

To be considered for Rising Leaders, applications must be complete and include the following:

• Letter of Interest

  • Write a brief letter explaining why you want to participate in the Rising Leaders Summer Program. Share your interests, hobbies, and what you hope to gain from the experience.

• One Character Reference

  • Character reference from someone who is not an immediate family member

• Completed Household Registration Form and Waiver

• Completed Rising Leaders Questionnaire

6 Week Applications: 3/4/2024

• Response by: 4/1/2024

Individual Week Applications: 4/8/2024

• Based on availability after 6 Week applications

Registration deadline: 6/3/2024

Individual Week Registration Cost

$100/Resident

An invoice will be sent with the acceptance letter for payment, full payment is due by 6/7/2024
