Fall and Winter Activities for the kids

School has started and the days are getting shorter but at Rutland Recreation and Parks we are here to help you find something to keep the kids engaged, learning new skills, and making connections, all while providing a safe space. Below are some of our remaining fall activities and upcoming winter sports. Just make sure to keep an eye on the registration deadlines! Each of the activities below gives you a direct link for online registration, but if you prefer you can register over the phone or in-person at the Rutland Recreation Community Center.

YOUTH BASKETBALL

RHS BASKETBALL PLAYOFF CAMP

Coaches from the RHS Basketball Program are excited to work with athletes in the greater Rutland Area to prepare them for the upcoming hoops season!

The Playoff Camp is a series of 4 sessions: November 7th, 9th,14th,16th.

Grades 3-5: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ RRCC

Grades 6-8: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ RRCC

Camp Registration Cost: $40R/$48NR

Registration Opens Tuesday, October 17th at 9:00 AM

Priority Registration for Rutland City Public School Students

GRADES 3-4 WINTER LEAGUE

Join the Rutland Recreational and Parks Department for Winter League Basketball, at the Rutland Rec Community Center.

  • Player Evaluations in Mid-November

  • Practices will start after the Thanksgiving Holiday

    • Tuesday/Thursday @ RRCC

    • 1 hour between 4:30 PM-7:00 PM based on volunteer coach availability

  • Games will begin after the Christmas/New Year Holiday

    • Saturdays

    • Home games will be played at RRCC

    • Away games played throughout Rutland County

Program Registration Cost: $70R/$84NR

Registration Opens Tuesday, October 17th at 9:00 AM

GRADES 5-6 WINTER LEAGUE

Join the Rutland Recreational and Parks Department for Winter League Basketball at the Rutland Rec Community Center.

  • Player Evaluations in Mid-November

Registration Opens Tuesday, October 17th at 9:00 AM

K-2 INSTRUCTIONAL

This program will meet once a week to learn the basics of Basketball! Each meeting will include a warm-up, a cool down, 15 minutes of skill building, and 15 minutes of playtime to finish off the 45-minute practice! This is the perfect opportunity for NEW and experienced players.

  • Program runs November 11th - December 17th

    • No program on November 26th

  • Sundays 10:00AM-10:45AM @ RRCC

Program Registration Cost: $30R/$36NR

Get ready to GO PLAY with Rutland Rec! Athletes will have the opportunity to play a variety of indoor sports and games with a special focus on Basketball under the direction of our enthusiastic instructors. This program is for athletes of all skill levels!
