Kim Peters: Superintendent
Kim Peters joined the City of Rutland Recreation Department in 2017 and is excited to see the progress the department has made since her arrival. She comes to us from Killington Parks and Recreation Department, where she spent four years as the Director. Before Vermont, Kim held a position as the YMCA Pool Director in Ohio, where she also was a USA Certified Swim Coach. When the COVID19 Pandemic impacted our community, Kim saw this as an opportunity to give back to the community and offer childcare for essential workers at the Rutland Rec Community Center. With four teenage kids, Kim spends her free time supporting them in their athletic achievements!

Tyler Dahlin: Parks and Facilities Director
Tyler started with the Recreation Department as a seasonal employee in 2002 while attending Castleton University. He has experienced many transformations to our parks and facilities and is enthusiastic about continuing the momentum to upgrade our parks and facilities. He was part of the restoration efforts after Hurricane Irene. When he was hired full-time, he was able to continue his education through the Recreation Department. He is a Certified Play Structure Inspector and Certified Pool Operator. He has completed two years’ worth of courses at Maintenance Management School at Oglebay in West Virginia. Tyler became the new Parks Director after the retirement of Bob Peterson in 2021 and looks forward to continuing his career with the department.

April Cioffi: Program Director CPRP, Godnick Adult Center
April has been with the Recreation and Parks Department since 2006. She is a native Rutland Resident who graduated from Rutland High and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Saint Michael's College. In 2014 she received her Certified Parks and Recreation Professional Certificate, completed NRPA Event Management School in 2017, and was honored as the Vermont Parks and Recreation Association's Young Professional 2017. In 2019 April was honored as one of Vermont’s Rising Stars through Vermont Business Magazine, joining young leaders chosen for their contributions to the Vermont economy and their respective communities. With the retirement of longtime co-worker and dear friend Lori Hickey, April has embraced the opportunity to serve as the Godnick Center program director. She is also passionate about working with other organizations to offer community events and our E-Bike Lending Program.

Conrad Zeller: Foreman
Conrad started at the Recreation Department as a seasonal worker while studying at Castleton University. Conrad was hired as a Maintenance Specialist I full time and continued his studying through the Maintenance Department. He is a Certified Pool Operator and is currently working toward his Maintenance Management Certification at Oglebay in West Virginia. Conrad spends his Winters maintaining ice at Giorgetti Arena and his Summers developing new plans for our parks. Kyle Bourgeois: Maintenance Specialist II
Kyle started with the Maintenance Department as a seasonal worker after Graduating from Castleton University in 2009 and has since worked his way up to being a full-time Maintenance Specialist II. He is a Certified Play Structure Inspector and a Certified Pool Operator. Kyle is the OSHA Safety Supervisor for the Recreation Department. During the Winter, Kyle can be found at Giorgetti Arena maintaining the ice. In the Spring and Summer, he specializes in the lining and painting our sports fields. Kyle looks forward to continuing to improve our parks for the community.

Zach Phelps: Maintenance Specialist II
Starting with the Recreation Department as a seasonal emp loyee, he has worked his way up to a full-time Maintenance Specialist I and was promoted to a Maintenance Specialist ll in the Summer of 2021. Zach spends his Winters at Giorgetti Arena maintaining the ice. During the Summer you will find Zach caring for all of our fields and checking on the pool as a Certified Pool Operator.

Britt Cassell: Program Director, Giorgetti Athletic Complex
A graduate from the University of New Hampshire, Britt is the Program Director for Giorgetti Arena, Indoor Turf, and FlipSide Skate Park, but has recently been taking on more youth sports projects such as Football and Basketball. Britt maintains a strong focus on coordinating special events. With a passion for professional development, Britt enjoys interacting with the community and receiving feedback. With high expectations in her career development, Britt is always looking to improve her networking with the partnerships she has had the opportunity to collaborate with, along with establishing new partnerships. Britt is excited to see what the future holds!

Colleen Shattuck: Program Director, Rutland Rec Community Center
Colleen received her MS from Castleton University in Athletic Leadership after attending the University of Vermont to earn her BA in Public Communication. Colleen came to our department in 2018 with a focus on community outreach and marketing and looks forward to continuing that as she takes on the role of Program Director. Colleen is excited to continue developing programs and special events for the community to enjoy and working at the Rutland Rec Community Center!

Nate Denno: Maintenance Specialist I
Nate Denno started with the Recreation and Parks Department in 2015 as a seasonal employee, working at our parks in facilities throughout the Summer months while studying at Castleton University. Nate received his B.S. in Business Administration with a Minor in Statistics in 2020. Nate was hired as a full-time Maintenance Specialist I in July 2021. He can be found caring for our many parks and facilities throughout the year and during the winter months, you can find Nate at Giorgetti Arena caring for the ice! Nate looks forward to continuing to build relationships with his coworkers and other city departments as well as serving the City of Rutland the best that he can.

Joe Bonasera: Program Director, Athletics
Joe Bonasera joined the Recreation and Parks Department as a Program Director in Fall 2021 after earning his B.S. in Sports Administration at Castleton University. You may recognize Joe from the Community Center and leading some of our after-school athletics programs, before he was a Program Director, he was an intern and a seasonal staff member! Joe is responsible for organizing regional league play for youth and adult sports along with planning and coordinating various athletic activities year-round. Originally from Chelsea, VT, Joe is looking forward to building connections and relationships in Rutland City with his coworkers and members of the community!

Joe Boudreau: Maintenance Specialist I
Joe Boudreau joined the Recreation and Parks Department as Maintenance Specialist I in Fall 2021 and comes with 20 years of experience in building, woodwork, and glasswork. Joe is a welcomed addition to the department, his experience, and broad skillset makes him the perfect man for any job! He can be found at Giorgetti during the winter months helping care for the ice, and during the summer he will be spending his time caring for our many parks and facilities. Joe looks forward to connecting with Rutland through his work in maintenance and is excited to be a part of the team that creates opportunities for a more vibrant community!

Emilee Bose: Program Director, Godnick Adult Center
Emilee has been with the Rutland Recreation Department since 2020 where she started as an intern. Emilee continued to work part time until hired in 2023 as a Program Director. Originally from Enosburg VT, Emilee attended Castleton University and graduated with her masters in Athletic Leadership after receiving her bachelors in Sports Management. Emilee is responsible for programming and facility rentals at the Godnick Adult Center, as well as Summer Camps and other special events.
