Running scared 5K

The Running Scared 5K, Halloween Parade Fundraiser, is back this year with some spooky changes to our race route. Join us on Saturday, October 28th, the morning of the Halloween Parade, and dress to impress in the spirit of Halloween!

Pre-registration is available through the Recreation and Parks Department through 10/25/2023 at 9AM, $15/Person, participants 10 and under are free. Day of registration is available from 9:30AM-10:30AM, $20/Person, at Giorgetti Athletic Complex (Cash Only).

Race starts at 11AM, support will be pulled from the race route at 1PM.

New this year, participants will line up at Giorgetti Athletic Complex for the start of the race, proceed to the Creek Path, and end the route at the Rutland Rec Community Center where the Rutland County Early Childhood Educator’s Network will be hosting a Trunk or Treat, available to the 5K participants and the public!

Route/Road Closures - Road Closures and Traffic Support for this Event will start at 10AM-1PM

Start - Giorgetti Athletic Complex, proceed to the lower field for a loop, then back up the driveway toward the entrance/exit to the complex.
Preville Ave, crossing at Crescent Street (Traffic Support), to Earl Street to the first segment of the Rutland Creek Path.
Crossing at State Street (Traffic Support) to Lalor Road, proceeding to the next segment of the Rutland Creek Path.
Crossing at West Street (Traffic Support) to Meadow Street, proceeding all the way down to the entrance to Meadow Street Park.
Running down the drive way to Meadow Street Park, onto the next section of the Rutland Creek Path that leads to River Street.
Staying on the sidewalk, moving towards Dorr Drive and across the bridge, turning right onto Dorr Drive (ROAD CLOSED)
- No Right Turn after 11AM onto DORR DRIVE - Road will be CLOSED for race!
Following Dorr Drive until your arrival at the Rutland Rec Community Center, following the last segment of our route until you end at the Trunk or Treat in the back parking lot at the Rutland Rec Community Center!
